The weekend drink is far weaker. I'm unsure why they have differing mixtures but during the week 2 is more than enough to get you bombed. Weekend, not so much, on the weeken I would go for a traditional mixed drink instead.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2179355911461156977.post-8457299727228215022008-09-03T07:02:00.000-07:002008-09-03T07:02:00.000-07:00It's weird that I came across this post of yours. ...It's weird that I came across this post of yours. I took my vacation to New Orleans the day after you posted this article.

Anyway, I did try the Hand Grenade while I was down there, and I think you got it wrong. First off, when I ordered mine, it was dispensed from a fountain drink dispenser, not mixed, so it's not meant to be a drink that can be easily mixed. Second, the drink is quite tasty.

And I need to stop here and preface this a little: I am not a huge drinker nor am I a huge party goer. But I do enjoy a drink and pretty often I might add.

So, like I said, the drink was very tasty. I definitely tasted some melon in it, but for the most part, it tastes very unique. But I didn't find the drink to be very strong. I had two Hand Grenades after having a beer or two (side note, I really enjoyed Abita while I was down there. Excellent beer), and it barely escalated my buzz. It felt like a few shots of SoCo and Lime would have done more for me. Lastly, it's expensive. 8$ a piece if I remember correctly. Like I said, I purchased a second, but only because I enjoyed the drink. I probably won't buy it again when I make my next visit.

Just wanted to throw in my thoughts of the Hand Grenade. In short, it tastes very good, helps you enjoy your bourbon street experience, but is not as strong as they claim and is very expensive compared to the other drinks available.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
